AI bedtime stories....part 1

Dinosaurs, Unicorns, Rainbows and Shoes

Last week, as a joke, I thought I would ask my AI to write me a bedtime story for my son.  I gave it a broad outline of what it should include and left the rest up to the AI to decide. My exact prompt was:

Write me a bedtime story for my 5 year old. It should include dinosaurs, unicorns, rainbows and shoes

If you’re not feeling gobsmacked by the end of reading it, then I will be shocked.

Here’s what it created:

“Once upon a time, in a magical land filled with rainbows and sparkling rivers, there lived a friendly dinosaur named Daisy. Daisy was no ordinary dinosaur; she was bright purple with a long, swirly tail that shimmered under the sun. But Daisy had a problem—she couldn’t find shoes that fit her enormous feet!

One day, Daisy was wandering near the Rainbow Valley when she stumbled upon a dazzling sight. A group of unicorns were playing near a large rainbow that touched the ground on both ends. Among them was a small unicorn named Uni, who had a sparkling silver mane and hooves that glowed like stars.

Daisy approached the unicorns shyly, but Uni, ever so friendly, trotted up to her and said, "Hello, big friend! What brings you to Rainbow Valley?"

Daisy sighed and told Uni about her quest to find shoes that would fit her giant feet. Uni's eyes lit up with excitement. "Maybe I can help you! Follow me!" she exclaimed.

Together, they journeyed deeper into the valley where the magic was stronger. There, the unicorns used their magic to conjure a rainbow bridge that led to a mystical cave known as the Closet of Wonders. Inside the cave, shoes of all sizes, colors, and shapes hung like jewels.

With a wave of her horn, Uni summoned a pair of shiny, rainbow-colored shoes, big enough for Daisy. "Try these," she suggested with a hopeful smile.

Daisy slipped her feet into the shoes, and they fit perfectly! They were not only the right size, but they also sparkled with every color of the rainbow. Daisy was so happy that she started dancing around, her new shoes twinkling with each step.

To celebrate, Uni and the other unicorns threw a grand party at the base of the rainbow. They danced and played games all day long. Daisy had never felt so joyful and loved.

As the sun set, painting the sky in hues of orange and pink, Daisy thanked her new friends for their kindness. "You’ve made me the happiest dinosaur in the land," she said, her heart full of gratitude.

From that day on, Daisy visited the unicorns often, and together with her magical shoes, they had many more adventures exploring the enchanted lands that lay beyond the rainbows.

And so, Daisy the dinosaur learned that with a little help from friends and a touch of magic, no dream is too big and no foot too large for a pair of wonderful shoes. And in the land of rainbows and unicorns, there’s always a perfect fit for everyone.

Goodnight, sweet dreams, and remember, magic is just a dream away!”

Ok, tell me honestly…. does anyone else think this is impressive, or just me? There is even a moral to the story.

I have yet to read this to my son, but I’m looking forward to hearing what he says about it…
